Creating better buildings: careers in Technical Advisory

Planning errors, execution defects and misunderstandings between trades are driving up construction costs in Germany to an estimated €13 billion a year – and inefficient operating processes waste even more resources. With us, you have an opportunity to change all that. You develop solutions that reduce costs, secure quality and deliver efficient processes, thereby making an active contribution to the success of building projects.

In our Technical Advisory team, you advise clients on all technical and economic matters, from project preparation, planning and execution through to commissioning and operation. You safely guide projects through all the different phases, improving quality, reducing risks and helping to pinpoint unnecessary costs – irrespective of whether they relate to buildings, infrastructure or industrial facilities. In doing so, you follow the German Official Fee Schedule for Architects and Engineers (HOAI), the German Construction Contract Procedures (VOB) and the phases of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Our fields of application

From the get-go, we establish a stable foundation for a successful project. During the initial technical assessment, you consider key factors like safety, energy efficiency, operation, building services engineering (BSE), building physics and façades, ensuring clarity from the start.

As a Construction Consultant, you support our construction projects throughout all phases. Acting as the interface between specialist planners, clients and all other parties, you facilitate smooth communication and ensure that all decisions are technically sound.

In Construction Project Controlling, you focus on delivering added value and employ your sound engineering expertise and wealth of specialist knowledge to support all planning and coordination discussions. You also identify potential savings and build up shared knowledge at an early stage. Last, but not least, you monitor the achievement of our goals, while keeping an eye on all the participating trades.

Guaranteeing quality in the execution phase is the primary goal of Construction Controlling. Here, you ensure that agreed construction quality and functionality standards are met. You apply your specialist knowledge by identifying defects at an early stage, minimizing risks and securing the efficiency of the construction project. To this end, you clarify interfaces, ensure quality and keep a close eye on costs.

A well-structured commissioning process, legally compliant operation and satisfied users: As part of our Technical Commissioning Management team, you support the entire planning and construction process, check requirements and specifications, handle coordination across trades and close any open interfaces. The end-result is a defect-free, fully functional building.

You apply the structured methodology of value engineering to improve processes and projects and maximize the relationship between function and cost. You analyze feasibility, find creative solutions, optimize costs and determine the best option for each project.

Planning and construction services from a single source: You assist clients in realizing construction projects where one construction partner is responsible for both planning and construction. You define requirements, draw up tender documents, and ensure that agreed quality standards are met in planning, construction and commissioning.

In Owner’s Engineering you take on the technical management of complex projects that can range from data centers and laboratories to energy plants. You define the technical requirements, coordinate specialist planning, and act as the interface between the client and the technical service providers. Your role is to ensure that quality, costs and deadlines are all adhered to.

In Task Force Engineering, you skillfully bring critical projects back on track. In this role, you stabilize technology and infrastructure projects that are suffering from deadline, quality or capacity constraints. Through rapid on-site analyses, cross-functional teams and around-the-clock project control, we work together to create transparency, eliminate bottlenecks and keep schedules, quality and processes on track.
