CORPORATE UNITS

Our Corporate Units (CUs) – Finance, Human Resources, IT and Communication – form the backbone of our organization and are the catalyst for Drees & Sommer project success. Thanks to the work undertaken by the Corporate Units, colleagues from the operational units can focus on their core competencies and core business. The CUs thus make sustainable corporate management possible in the first place.

Areas of application

Finance is the central point of contact for operational units in the areas of accounting, investment controlling, business support and controlling, purchasing, financial services, legal, mergers and acquisitions as well as the development and support of our digital tools. As proactive consultants, we create transparency and optimize our processes and tools, thus contributing to the company's success. Based on our vision of ensuring Drees & Sommer leadership through digital and technological transformation, IT provides the backbone for our core business operations. Our core competency is in rolling out and supporting secure high-availability, high-performance digital solutions. This results in exciting projects undertaken in collaboration with employees in a wide range of areas. Various Drees & Sommer Centers of Expertise also ensure excellent international networking. Our Global Shared Service Center supports this international orientation, resulting in ever-changing and stimulating areas of responsibility and work locations. 

The Corporate Communication team is responsible for all internal and external communication channels – from social media, our corporate website, blog, press releases and annual report to our social intranet, employee magazine DURCHBLICK, trade fairs and events. Our role is to address target audiences with the appropriate messages and media, and to position Drees & Sommer as an innovation and market leader. We pursue a clear brand management strategy based on our brand essence and corporate identity.

Drees & Sommer has always attached great importance to innovation. Our Innovation Center has a key role to play here – driving the digital transformation of the construction and real estate industry, further extending our innovation leadership, and increasing the pace of innovation at Drees & Sommer. We digitize existing business units and undertake efficient, goal-oriented development of new business models. We then bring these to market. Our team is united by passion for the use of state-of-the-art technologies and innovative ideas to revolutionize the way we interact with the built environment and design climate-friendly new buildings. We also work on a range of other topics including artificial intelligence, current and future trends, the latest startups, and the development of new venture building business models.

I head up the Organizational Development team at Drees & Sommer. We look in particular at topics that affect our internal organizational structures and our cooperation as an organization. Our strong growth – both organic and through acquisition – requires continuous development in many areas, including our organizational structure. My team and I particularly enjoy communicating with the many interfaces in the different areas of the company!

Innovation is in Drees & Sommer’s DNA. As an innovation manager, my focus is on trend scouting and idea management. The role is to identify and analyze new trends and promote innovative ideas. The development of new ideas – from concept development to implementation – is an important aspect of my work. Each day, our team looks at current market developments and various future scenarios. We also test the latest AI tools.
