At Drees & Sommer, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager with solid international experience to lead large‑scale industrial EPCM projects ( > 50M EUR/USD) in sectors such as automotive, semiconductors, life sciences, chemicals, energy, manufacturing, and logistics. This position plays a key role in the planning, execution, and delivery of highly complex projects within multicultural environments governed by global standards and regulations.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership, comprehensive project management capabilities, strategic vision, and exceptional communication and coordination skills across clients, stakeholders, and internal interfaces.
YOUR TASKS
Responsibilities
- Lead complex industrial EPC/EPCM projects from requirements identification, design, planning, execution, and commissioning.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams, providing technical leadership and ensuring effective coordination across disciplines and external partners.
- Manage projects end‑to‑end, including production processes, facilities, buildings, and technical systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client, organizing workshops and aligning interests among all involved parties.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and methodological frameworks applicable to the industrial sector.
- Manage international contracts (EPC, EPCM, FIDIC, NEC, etc.) and oversee key aspects such as timelines, costs, scope, and quality.
- Support strategic decision‑making by analyzing risks, proposing solutions, and ensuring a results‑oriented approach.
- Drive business development activities by building and strengthening the professional network and contributing to the acquisition of new projects.
- Represent Drees & Sommer in international environments, collaborating with multicultural teams and adapting to global requirements.
Your Profile
1. Academic Background
- University degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building/Construction Engineering, Architectural Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical fields.
- Master’s degrees or advanced certifications in project management (PMP, IPMA, Lean, etc.) will be valued.
2. Professional Experience
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in managing large‑scale industrial projects (> 50M EUR/USD).
- Proven recent experience in EPC/EPCM projects in sectors such as automotive, semiconductors, manufacturing, energy, logistics, or life sciences.
3. International Experience
- Participation in international projects with multicultural teams.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to different technical, regulatory, and cultural frameworks.
4. Language Skills
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
- German is highly valued.
5. Technical Knowledge
- Strong command of international construction and industrial standards.
- Practical knowledge of ISO standards and methodological frameworks relevant to the industrial sector.
- Understanding of international contract types (EPC, EPCM, FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
- Knowledge of BIM methodologies.
6. Professional and Personal Competencies
- Leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Highly organized profile with decision‑making capability, initiative, and strong results orientation.
- Proactive mindset and strategic vision.
7. Availability and Mobility
- Availability for regular travel within Spain and internationally (meetings, site supervision, coordination with client/local teams).
